Egypt

Egypt... surrounded by awe-inspiring desert scenery and home to some of humans' most ancient and remarkable civilizations is a country of contrast and wonder.

Located at the north-east tip of Africa, Egypt's surface is more than 95% stone, sand and desert, however, in the middle of this expanse, the Nile River floods into the Nile Valley. Cairo, the capital city, boasts ancient attractions such as the Pyramids, the Sphinx at Giza and the Egyptian Museums. Travel along the Nile reveals more wonders such as the Temple of Khnum in Esna, Edfu Temple and the double temple at Kom Ombo. The most beautiful stretch of the Nile is found in Aswan, a relaxing town with a tangible African ambience and the perfect base to visit the temple of Isis on Philae Island or, further afield, the awe inspiring temple of Abu Simbel. In the south lies ancient Luxor, a city often described as the best open-air museum in the world. The Red Sea, bordering the entire east coast of the country, is considered one of the world's premier diving destinations.
